On April 22nd, more than 192 counties will come together to demonstrate support for the environment and celebrate Earth Day. Started in 1970, Earth Day is a celebration of all things green.
Since our inception, Quest has adopted quite a few “green” initiatives to lessen our carbon footprint.
Quest’s new center in Doral and the West Palm Beach office are LEED certified-having met prerequisites to maximize energy efficiency and make the most of renewable, sustainable resources.
Throughout the 11 centers in South Florida and in New York’s iconic Time Life building, Quest only uses 100 percent recycled printing/ copier paper.
According to Green America.org, using recycled paper decreases deforestation as it reduces the demand for wood; generates less pollution during manufacturing, as papers are only processed once and reduces solid waste by diverting usable paper from the waste stream.
Every ton of paper recycled saves enough energy to heat and air condition the average American home for about six months.
Each office is equipped with recycling bins for paper, plastic, aluminum and glass. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, recycling reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators, conserves natural resources such as timber, water and minerals, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global climate change.
In addition to being good for the environment, recycling aids the economy. Recycling creates new businesses that haul, process and broker recovered materials as well as companies that manufacture and distribute products with recycled goods.
Quest is home to many environmentally focused companies. Quest New York shares space with Fontaine Partners, which funds and assists in creating commercially viable clean technology solutions that grown into sustainable business models and Matrix Energy Service, an all-women owned energy efficiency and demand reduction company. OZO2 is an eco friendly dry cleaner out of Quest West Palm Beach and Information Technologies located at Quest Brickell in the Espirito Santo Plaza, specializes in helping large companies and universities convert their paper files into electronic ones.
Unlike Kermit the Frog, Quest wants to make it easy to be green!
